Matt Hayden talks the talk
I've had jack of Matt Hayden shooting his mouth off to the media. It was bad enough listening to him insist throughout and after the Ashes that he wasn't in bad form - he was just getting out (I fail to see the distinction between the two). After Duncan Fletcher published an article about Australia's conduct during the Ashes, Matt Hayden has responded by questioning the timing of his comments. He says "He's a long, long way away, isn't he? He's 22 hours flight away, isn't he?" What the hell is that supposed to mean? Is Fletcher worried that Ponting is going to challenge him to a duel? The timing is obvious as any idiot can see. Fletcher, like just about every Englishman involved in cricket, is releasing a book. Nothing will get him more free press than bagging the Aussies. But wait, there's more. Hayden goes on to say "We won't play them for another 18 months and the Australian captain will still be Ricky Ponting, and he's going to have a few more titles under his belt than England, I would have thought." Hayden seems to have been infected with the same disconnection from reality that Buchanan is suffering from. Has the SuperSeries wiped the Ashes from his memory? We just got caned in England! Hayden like most of the team was a huge disappointment and even he admitted ego was a bit part of why he failed. And yet the big words and the tough guy talk is coming out again. Will the same hubris and arrogance take us down again next summer?

Exactly. This was the reaction I had when I read Matty's comments. What does a 22 hour flight got to do with it? Flectcher is a moron but Matty proved he is a bigger one with these comments.
Matty H has got to go. I can't believe the seclectors kept him in the team and dropped Martyn.
