Anzac Day to be commemorated with nude beach cricket

Anzac Day is a solemn event where we remember the sacrifices of Australians and New Zealanders who gave their lives for our freedom. Hence I read with bemusement how naturist group Free Beaches Australia have organised a game of nude beach cricket to mark Anzac Day. I wonder if our diggers could've anticipated the Australian way of life they gave their lives for would include getting our gear off and flailing around naked in public or drunken rampages in Gallipoli each year. My favourite part of the article comes from Bill Hopper, the spokesman for the New Zealand Returned Services Association:
"Mr Hopper said his only concern about the event was the combination of nudism with a sausage sizzle."

There does seem plenty of potential for problems here...I mean sand finds its way, without invitation I might add, into every nook and cranny even when people faithfully wear their swimwear. Let's hope there weren't too many close run out calls or leg befores.

Not to mention sunburn. Applying zinc cream would've been an interesting experience.

Activity in the nude gives one a particularly agreeable feeling of freedom. There is no problem with sand, in fact less than when wearing bathers. We all know that yucky feeling of sand in the togs. And the application of sunblock feels just as when done 'clothed'. But the feeling of the breeze and sun on the skin is delightful and, in spite of what many may think, is not erotic or sexual.
