W.G. Grace is God
I recently watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail with the director's commentary on (I have a nerdy passion for listening to DVD audio commentaries) and was surprised to learn animator/director Terry Gilliam actually used a photo of W.G. Grace for his animation of God. I think I've even found the actual photo used from his player profile at Cricinfo. Just goes to show how revered The Doctor is in England and rightly so - the guy is like several modern day champions rolled into one. He had the physique of Inzamam-ul-Haq, an imposing presence to rival Viv Richards, an ego to match Shane Warne and facial hair that Hashim Amla would struggle to keep up with.| Posted by JC on Thu 4 May | 3 comments |
A nice pre-Ashes joke:
The cricketer was visiting the psychiatrist.
Cricketer: 'It's terrible. I can't score runs, I'm a terrible bowler, and I can't hold a catch. What can l do?
Doctor: 'Get another job.'
Cricketer: 'I can't. I'm playing for England tomorrow !'

It sucks we can't say all those jokes about English cricket anymore. At least not until we get the urn back. Then normal business resumes...
