Nixon unrepentant over sledging
English wicketkeeper Paul Nixon is unrepentant over sledging Michael Hussey after Mr Cricket was given not out when allegedly nicking it in Game 4:
"It's his choice not to walk. In the heat of the battle he wants to win the game and that is exactly what I want to do. If I feel strongly that he's nicked it and not walked I will give him a bit of stick and rightly so. The Aussies would be exactly the same if it was the other way around.I've got no problem with Huss not walking or Nixon sledging him for it (I do have a problem with Gilly walking but that's for personal reasons). Frankly, Nixon should be encouraged to sledge. Considering he can't bat and isn't so crash hot with the gloves, sledging is all he's got.
I am not a walker. You get the rough with the smooth. But if you don't walk you're going to cop a bit of stick and that is fair enough. If I get under other people's skin then that's their prerogative. It is easy for Huss to say that it spurs him on because he won the game. If he had nicked off and been given it's a very different story."

He's a sledger, he's a motivator, he's a team man. As you say, it's all he's got.
Actually saw him the other day "snatching" with the gloves. You know, something you teach kids not to do when they are 8 or 9.

It's very strange to pick a 36 year old with little skills other than geeing up his teammates as a lead-up for the World Cup. I just don't get what the English selectors have been thinking this summer.

Nixon's arrogant, bone-headed comments would be an embarassment if England were a great side but given their current performances he would do better to shut up and show a little respect to cricketers whose boots they are nt fit to lace-up.
I have tried hard to support England this winter\summer but when the likes of journeymen county cricketers such as Nixon are selected I really begin to despair.

Nixon is an absolute twat.
The one thing i hated about watching any game of Englands was his horribly annoying voice booking over the stump mic.
Who is he anyway? where on earth did they dig up a player like that?? Perhaps he won a raffle in some local pie throwing league.
No only did he look liked some washed old up bone head but he sounded worse.
