The day Brett Lee tried to kill
The Daily Telegraph posted a good article about the day Brett Lee tried to kill a group of journalists in a promotional net session:
The year was 2003, shortly before the World Cup, and Cricket Australia was offering a promotional net session with Lee and Glenn McGrath. A few gentle arm rolls, the invite said. Laughs, photo opportunities, then lunch. That'll learn them journos to give Binga a bad write up.
But according to those scribes present that day, Lee bowled like Lucifer on Bundy rum. Dangerously fast. Sadistically short. Charging in with such venom, Ricky Ponting actually dragged his opener aside for a word.
Something like "what the @#$% are you doing?".

My respect level for Lee has gone up 100 fold. I might even forgive him for unintelligible Bollywood songs.
Nah.

I do however feel for the journos. I faced one ball from a quick bowler a few weeks back - got a bruise that is still a little sensitive. I'm told he bowls around 130km/hr - I can't imagine facing a bowler 25km/hr faster than that.

Another brownie point in Binga's favour, just read this quote on cricinfo: "I didn't want kids seeing a Test cricketer plugging alcohol." Eg - he turned down a $1 million sponsorship deal with a beer company. Of course, it would take decades of Bingas to erase the association of Australian cricketers with beer established by Boonie, Rod Marsh... pretty much every cricketer since the 1970's. But kudos to him anyway.

Lee bowling quickly to journos is pretty shabby.
And if it's done in retaliation for something they've written that's worse and shows a brittle side I didn't realise he had.
Imagine what he'll do to the music critics.

I was kidding about him bowling that fast because of bad reviews - I think it's just his fast bowling nature. But LOL re the music critics.

Thinking about it JC; perhaps Brendan McCullum is a music critic...
That would explain the repeated bean balls...

What comes around goes around. These "Journalists" have it coming. They can give it, but by hell they can't take it.

Geez Sportsfreak, if it's not an underarm complaint it's a beamer complaint. Make up your freaking mind!

I know AM.
Next I’ll be demanding things like your batsmen being given out when caught in the deep, your keepers needing to catch the ball on the full to claim a wicket, or for No#10 batsmen to be given out when totally plumb with a couple of overs to go in a test match.
