India vs Australia, 2nd Test, Day 1
The 1st Test was an engrossing game between the two best Test teams in the world (come on, we all know that's true). Most surprising of all - most of the talk about the game centred on actual cricket! While the game was a draw, Australia had a slight edge. Can they eke out a win in the 2nd Test? Excellent toss to win for Dhoni, it was about time Punter's luck with the toss on good pitches ran out. (Except the Ashes of course)
But the Mohali pitch usually stays true for the better part of the game, so a high scoring game on the cards. Judging by the way Gambhir is cover driving, Michael Hussey will be licking his lips.

Indeed, Mr Cricket's batting average has been plummetting into the high 60's of late, he needs a few big 'uns to boost it.
I hope this isn't gonna be one of those flat pitches where the batsman just drone on and on a la some recent India vs Pakistan series. Waste of time!

Talking about India Pakistan, Kamran Akmals fine 109 and Abdul Razzak's defiant innings of 71 helped them save the game on day 5 with a 184 run stand at Mohali, where Kumble was the major threat.
If the Australian batsmen get going as well, unless the runs are scored at a frenetic pace, (remember Adelaide?) this match might well end up as one of those average building exercises, the same can't be said for the poor bowlers though!
My heart goes out to Peter Siddle

India 3 for 146, losing two wickets in 3 balls. That's what I'm talking bout!

Hang on a minute! 2 quick strikes and the Aussies are right back in it.
Maybe we were all a bit over the top when in the Lunch session the experts were trying to ascertain "Which of the Indian batsmen will score a double century?"
Only Ian Chappell seemed to make sense.

For Sachin's sake I hope he breaks Lara's record today. It's so obvious that its wearing him down a little bit.
Seems strange why top players never admit the fact, instead persisting with the "I don't care about numbers" cliche.

That's the record for 11,955dulkar. Hope he crosses 12000dulkar today. As for the match, Aussies' r in command n India needs to work harder.
Good thing is Dhoni is yet to come and even Amit Misra has 9 1st class 50's to his name. Then the inform Indian lower order.

Yup, lets not forget Harbhajan and Zaheer :-)
Extraordinary achievement by Tendulkar, most runs, most hundreds, all with humility, grace and spirit.

Aussie's over rate is too slow. They will soon have to get spin from both ends if Ponting does not want to pick up a fine.

Slow over rates are a pox on the modern game

Personally I liked it when in ODI cricket, they were penalized overs. Money doesn't matter all that much these days.
10 runs in 20-20 for the Kolkotta Knightriders equates to 200 runs for Australia in 5-day cricket.
