India vs Australia, 2nd Test, Day 2

Yesterday was a day of milestones. Sachin Tendulkar went past Brian Lara as Test cricket's highest run-getter. Sourav Ganguly went past 7000 runs, passing The Don. Peter Siddle, aka "who the hell is that guy", took his first Test wicket - dismissing the Little Master, no less. And the biggest milestone of the day nearly went by unnoticed - Ishant Sharma achieved 100 Test runs.

India are in a strong position but this match has draw written all over it. The wickets that fell were more due to poor forcing shots than fiendish bowling or demons in the pitch. Is this going to be a Test series of no-results? After the high drama when India last toured Australia, that would be a shameful anti-climax. Fingers crossed for a result... going Australia's way, of course. Live score courtesy of cricinfo...

I agree JC. Generally the tests that have produced results here have had pitches that help pacers and there is not much for the spinners here. This time even the faster bowlers did not get much help and the track is a belter. So its probably heading for a draw.

India is maintaining a healthy run rate, around 3.65 rpo. Rate should pick up a little if/when Ganguly crosses his 100 and even more if/when India cross 500.

Well India all out for 469. but Dhoni was certainly unlucky there. Missed his 100.

Got a chance to watch an entire day's play today and I wasn't disappointed.

What has happened to the AAA (Aggressive Aussie Approach)? The way they are batting - I'm not talking of the way the wickets fell, they happen - doesn't inspire. It's jittery and lacks the traditional Aussie punch. No team has ever won batting this way.

It seems with Gilly retiring and Symmo not being selected, their batting line up has taken a serious beating. Honestly, you need four batters to replace the above two. Also, Symmo would have fired up Hayden, who desperately needs something not less than a controversy to recharge his nitro boosters.

This is a vapid display from the Aussies till now. Wake up! Bite, punch or swear - I want something to write on!

This is not the Aussies I supported through the 90's. Ponting and Co need some soul searching to do now. And for Ponting "Solution searching" to sort out Indian Bowlers ,earlier it was just the turbantor now, Ishant is becoming his achilles heel.

I think we've been spoilt over the past decade or two. Batting like Gilly and Symonds was freakish - Australia are now reverting to the mean. Eg - they're batting like a normal Test team.

BTW, holy crap, Michael Clarke. I was joking the other day about you making a habit of getting out on the last over of the day. Now it seems for real!
